but anyways if someone wants plastic surgery that’s their own fucking business and that’s cool with me, it doesn’t mean they hate their bodies or they need to be “saved” it just means they want plastic surgery

it’s body modification plain and simple

[gender talk]

man i feel so weird about my boobs

theyre the only part of my body (aside from my voice) that i really get dysphoric over and sometimes i genuinely want top surgery a whole lot because binding’s a pain in the ass and it’s downright impossible to get them totally flat

and sometimes i love them a lot and think they’re great

i think mostly i wish there wasn’t such a pervasive idea that boobs = girl bc even when you see people play around with gender norms wrt body hair, head hair, face shape, genitalia, clothing, etc. etc. i feel like there’s this idea that breasts are inherently feminine and even though guys can have breasts they better be binding that shit away

i almost never see pics (either drawings or photographs) of masculine-presenting people who aren’t ladies with noticeable curvage in the chest area and it makes me sad

timaeustestified:

while i’m on the subject of tits, i’m really tired of people shaming surgically enhanced boobage

  1. you think you can tell the difference but you totally can’t. i’ve seen home-grown breasts with just as much bounce, firmness or shape as you’d attribute to “Fake Tits” and augmented breasts that look pretty average
  2. they don’t feel bad or gross to the touch, they feel like breasts. breasts feel nice. FACT. it doesn’t matter if you grew them at puberty or later in life or if they exist because of squishy packets under the skin. even the breasts that chubby guys grow feel nice in your hands, get over it. you’re not gonna put your hands in someone’s shirt and feel the horrified tingle down your spine of “THESE BREASTS ARE FAKE… I CAN TELL… THE NIGHT IS RUINED”. no fucking way.
  3. maybe the desire to get your breasts augmented is borne of society’s bad standards in the long term, but in the short term, these are people who are either going to have to deprogram every toxic thing they’ve ever heard or seen in the media/from other people about small breasts, or they’re going to get bigger ones. it is a totally personal decision to make whether you can do one or the other
  4. transgender girls exist. some can grow breasts with help from estrogen treatments, some can’t. depending on how shitty and archaic the area they’re living in is, they might not even be considered legally women without getting breast enhancement. many more just get it because it helps them a lot.
  5. why on earth would you support tattoos and piercings (one type of body mod) but not breast augmentation (another type of body mod). you don’t get to decide whether something that SOMEONE ELSE DOES TO THEIR OWN BODY is legitimate based on whether you think it looks nice or not.
  6. don’t be ridic. thank you.

saschaeatsteeth:

So I was trying to be fair & thinking “oh you know Erika Moen did that transphobic comic in 2009, and when your art & creations & words are captured online forever it can be difficult to mend the fucked up shit you’ve done.” So I went looking for any like, updates, comments, apologies, whatever, and instead found this quote. In which criticism of her work as being transphobic, racist, etc is likened to being yelled at by a homeless drunk man. (Because we all know THEY aren’t to be taken seriously, har har har) and that it has no bearing on her life.

This is not “haters gonna hate” or someone defending their work/being dismissive in the face of art critics, misogynists, homophobes, or just plain jerks. This is someone benefiting from & “representing” queers then spitting in their faces.

AHAHA WOW FUCK HER
